I became a nurse for a few reasons: 1. I like science and find medicine interesting, 2. I wanted to finish college in 4 years, and 3. I wanted a flexible career which could take me anywhere.
I settled in North Carolina in 2004. I worked in the hospital (12-hour night shifts 3 days per week) and took a lot of trips, exploring other countries and also doing a ton of hiking and camping in the nearby mountains.
I exchanged my hospital career in 2008 for a desk job and have been privileged to work full time from home since 2014. Working full time from home definitely gives you more free time...until you have kids.
I started dating Jon in 2012. We were engaged a year later. Married nine months after that. Pregnant six months after that. We welcomed Henry in June 2015 and Lucas in March 2017. That's a very quick summary of five wonderful years!
I am impulsive and love new ideas. But I tend to get caught up in the idea and not follow through with implementation... So, I'm very excited about this little project my husband has thought up. As a middle child, I'm sure some competitive spirit will rear its ugly head. Bring on the challenges.
